Hi got one of these for Christmas..rnTotally differnt design than in the above pictures..rnCatcher design is very poor grass comes out under the top
lid covering the motor in grass if mowing dead grass could def cause a fire hazard..rnwhen catcher full the top lifting handle comes off under the
weight of the grassrnanother poor design feature..Wheels are ribbed not flush as in the picturernmaking it harder to push..Raising handle is totally
different design and is massive and sticks out past the wheel getting caught on things when mowing close to trees ect.. The only plus for it is the
keystartrnwhich you have to charge the battery for 8 hours before use! and it runs a bit quieter than other mowers..Cut is no different than other
cheaper mowers..If you want a mower that only lasts 12 months then shell out the $300 for it or if you are after one that lasts than look else where..
Ps please update the pictures of this model as they are misleading..rnRegards,rnSimon..

Is the product ready to use?

No, It is necessary to fit the lower handle, handle bar and catcher  to the mower.  This should take approx 5 minutes.  Also, the lawn mower is shipped without oil. Do not start your lawn mower before ensuring it has been filled with the right amount of correct grade oil. If mower is operated with another fuel other than unleaded petrol and/or without 4 stroke oil, your warranty will be void . Also, make sure you have added the correct fuel to the mower.

How do I change the height adjustment?

This lawnmower has one lever to easily adjust the cutting height. There are 10 height settings (18mm - 85mm)

1. To decrease the cutting height pull the height adjustment lever  out and move it up a notch, towards the handlebar.

2. To increase the cutting height pull the lever out and move it down a notch, towards the motor.

Note. If you are unsure of which cutting height to use, begin with a high setting and trial a small section of lawn, then check the appearance of the lawn. Then readjust if necessary

How do I empty the grass catcher?

To remove the catcher, raise the guard while lifting the catcher to dislodge it from the hooks. Do not leave clippings in the catcher for extended periods.

Note. Make sure the mower is turned off and the spark plug lead is removed.

Can I replace the mower blades myself?

Yes, follow the directions in the instruction manual. Periodically check the blades  for nicks and dull cutting edges and have it sharpened if needed.

What do I do if bluey/black smoke is coming from the muffler?

Should the engine idle or run rough at full speed with excessive bluey/black smoke emanating from the muffler, it is possible that either the engine was slightly tipped incorrectly (refer above) or the carburettor is set to rich. With the engine running, adjust the mixture screw back slightly until performance improves. This screw is located through a slot in the front of the air filter cover.

Can I clean the air filter myself?

Yes, A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow to the carburettor. To prevent carburettor malfunction, service the air clearer regularly.  Check that the air filter is clean and dry of dirt. Filters thick with debris will not allow the engine to breath and result in difficult starting and poor engine performance.  Refer to the instruction manual for directions.

How do I recharge the battery?

If the battery  has insufficient power remaining to start the motor, it can be recharged as follows.

1. Disconnect the battery from the motor at connector .

2. Connect the charger to the battery at connector.

3. Connect the charger to the mains supply and leave it to charge for several hours.

4. Switch off the power, disconnect the charger and reconnect the battery to the motor.

Note. If you know that the mower is not going to be used for a long period, fully charge the battery then disconnect the battery leads.

Can I change the spark plugs myself?

Yes, refer to the instruction manual for directions. You can  also replace the current spark plug  (MEIYA Torch F6RTC)  with the following  alternatives : Champion RN11YC, NGK BPR6ES.

Spark plugs can be purchased from REPCO, Lawn mower repair shops, and most Automotive shops.

What  if I loose my key?

In the event that you misplace or loose your key, simply contact the 909 Customer Service Department and we will replace the key for you.

What maintenance/cleaning is required for the lawnmower for increased user life?

Follow these simple tips to maintain your lawnmower:

1. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition. Regular

maintenance is essential for safety and performance.

2. Never store the equipment with fuel in the tank inside a building where vapour may reach a flame or a spark or a source of extreme heat.

3. Allow the engine to cool before storing in an enclosed space.

4. To reduce the fire hazard, keep the engine, exhaust silencer, battery compartment and fuel storage area free of grass, leaves, or excessive grease. Do not leave containers with grass cuttings in rooms.

5. Check the stone-guard and grass-catcher frequently for wear and deterioration.

6. If the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be done outdoors and when the engine is cool.

7. Wear strong work gloves when removing and reassembling the blade.

8. Check the blade’s balance after sharpening.

9. For reasons of safety, do not use the equipment with worn or damaged parts. Parts are to be replaced and not repaired. Parts that are not of the same quality can damage the equipment and be dangerous for your safety.

10. Whenever the machine is to be handled, transported or tilted you must:

– wear strong working gloves;

– grasp the machine at the points that offer a safe grip,

taking account of the weight and its distribution.

Note: When cleaning, or performing any maintenance such as replacing the blades, it is very important that the mower is only tipped backwards. Failing to do so will result in the engine oil flowing into the cylinder and muffler

making starting very difficult if at all. Should this occur, the mower should be taken to a mower repair shop which is not covered under warranty
